Nemanja Vidić was born on 21 October 1981 in Titovo Užice, SR Serbia, SFR Yugoslavia and currently plays for Manchester United and the Serbian national team. His physical presence, precise and firm tackling and good heading ability have allowed him to establish himself as a first-team player with Manchester United. His partnership with Rio Ferdinand is considered as being one of the best in Europe and has allowed the Red Devils to fend off the challenge of Chelsea in the Premier League. He is also dangerous when it comes to corners and free kicks in the opposition half.

Vidić is married to Ana Ivanović, an economics student at the University of Belgrade.
The couple has two sons, Luka and Stefan.
Vidić was named Premier League Player of the Month for January 2009.
He was also named Barclays Player of the Season for 2008–09.
